APRIL 23d, 2025 – Employee engagement in Canada has declined, now aligning with levels observed in Latin America, according to a recent Gallup report. This marks a significant shift, as North America previously led global engagement metrics.
The report highlights that only 31% of employees are engaged at work, a decrease from previous years. This downturn brings the region on par with Latin America’s engagement rate, which has remained steady. In contrast, other regions, such as South Asia, have seen improvements in employee engagement, with South Asia leading globally at 33%.
Gallup’s findings suggest that the decline in North American engagement may be attributed to factors such as workplace stress, lack of recognition, and insufficient opportunities for professional development.
